Crystal anklets

Crystal anklets have been in fashion for quite some time now. I made them in three colors; black, maroon and pink.

Temple jewelllery

This was a Dance set which I did as a gift for a girl who was going to do her dance arangetram

For gals n guys

I m surprised at the way things r changing n how much guys ve taken to fashion jewellery. Of course , previously during our forefathers time, men used to wear studs in both the ears n stuff, history is jus repeating itself. One of my guy frends used to keep askin me if I had nothun to make for them. These beads which i chanced upon recently caught my eye and I thot why not make some bracelets which gals n guys can wear

CD hanging

I came across this on TV and used the basic idea and developed it. This is a hanging which can be used to decorate door frames or shelves where idols of gods r kept. CD s were cut into two halves and the halves were stuck to a long ribbon one by one to the desired length and then a Ganesha sticker was stuck to the visible part of the CD and the rest of the CD was decorated.

Fridge Magnet

A fridge magnet or a show piece, this is made from a bottle cap (I used a TATA Tion bottle cap) and are stuffed with m-seal, painted and then decorated with stones or gliitter. A magnet can be stuck to the back to use it as a fridge magnet.

M- seal art

This was done on a plastic plate (old food plate) by using Shilpkar (or art m-seal) by making shapes out of it and sticking onto the plate. THey were then painted in the desired colors . Can be used as wall hangings.

Painting the story of a painting!!

Well!!!It all started when I was waiting for my job call for letter and was sitting at home in Aug, 2008 I had loads of free time and I wanted to do soemthun worthwhile. Inspired by a relative, I decided to embark on this journey of pursuing my interests in arts and crafts and thus it started with a visit to a nearby shop which was an in and out art shop and one can find almost anything there. Coincidentally, my b'day was around the corner that time and one of my friend wanted to know what I wud like as a gift. I replied "a glass painitng kit" which I had been longing to do for ages. So we went shopping and I got the gift I wanted. Then came out my first painting of Lord Ganesha which I gifted to the same friend and it still adorns the hall in his house.:)

Moving on

Then I started the making of the grand ones which are different frm the earlier ones and are the ones in vogue. They are stone sets in various colors and include kundan sets and have a radiant look making them suitable to wear for weddings and other functions. These are the ones which have been in demand most and since they are available in various colors, can be worn

The Beginning

This is one hobby which I ve been pursuing for the past two years and have experimented a lot with it and I thoroughly enjoying doin so. Started doin it in 2008 with a basic set which I thought I ll give to the temple near my house, I made a maroon stone necklace with golden beads. And then decided to commercialize by making few earrings and few sets, some pearl ones and other stones sets.

Crystal Glass Painting

Now I wanted to experiment and I decided to do soemthun which I saw on TV. It was a crystal glass painting. A packet of painting crystals was bought and on the glass surface I applied fevicol after drawing the sketch with the glass liner. I sprinkled the crystals on the fevicol and wiped those not necessary. After letting it dry for a few hours, I applied the solvent based glass colors on them and voila, the painting was done. N of course it was yet another Ganesha cos he can be drawn in various forms and one need not be a great artist. This was a gift to my sis for her bday in Nov, 2009 and what else than a Ganesh painting for her to add to her already existing awesome Ganesh collection.....
